It's been a long week

This has been a very long week regarding my classes.  I still was unable to get everything done that I wanted to.  Between work and school all of my free time has been dedicate to homework.  My husband is wants me to drop out.  However, I have learned a lot, even under pressure. 
Document Formatting was like being on the floor of the stock exchange.  Panic, confusion, sometimes joy, it was pretty crazy.  No matter what I did I could not figure out how to check my correspondences in the GDP.  I did all of my work at home except the letterhead paper printing and the letterhead envelop printing.  Everything else I printed at home.  I was up until 2:30am on Tuesday night trying to put the finishing touches on it.  We then had proofreading and editing.  That homework wasn't too difficult, it was just time consuming.  I did pretty good on the proofreading marks test, 2 wrong.  No one in the class remembered we had a test, which with all the other work I could see happening.  No one was mad, they just had forgotten and took it in stride.  Then I had Digital Communication Technologies class.  I was unable to edit the photos I wanted to and since I had till midnight I decided to get my more pressing assignments done in my other classes.  I am excited about our new project- the 3 minute still image video.  I have had an idea for this type of a project for several years.  It will require time to achieve what I want to do and I was hoping to have more then 3 minutes, but I will make do.  I want to set up my camera in my art room on it's tripod.  We have a nice camera that is a video recorder but also takes still frames.  I will make sure to have all my equipment prepped, as not to waste time, and I would like to record a one or two day oil painting.  This will require a lot of photos.  I want it to be like a flip book.  I will have to angel the camera in a way so I am not blocking it often.  I will have to take many photos and then speed up the transition between them, cutting out any that do not turn out.  I have done one day paintings before, it is not easy so I will not put a definite time limit on it.  So their is my idea for digital communication technologies class for our next project. Now, back to the editing photos project, when I got home on Wednesday evening I went right to work.  I brought out our old laptop, which the keyboard is fried, but I knew this was my only connection all my digital photos of my artwork.  I navigated around and was able to find them.  I put them on my flash drive and transferred them to our new laptop.  I got all of them.  From there I found photo of my artwork that I really have been wanting to edit due to bad photography.  I feel that after editing they turned out awesome, huge improvement.  The colors are so much more like the actual colors in the oil paintings.  I liked that project.  That is a project that I will definitely utilize because as an artist you need good photos of your works to enter shows and get accepted to galleries.  Now, we are at the copy shop assignment for Graphic and Print Media.  What  a frustrating assignment.  People that work in copy shops must have phoned in their education, because they cannot answer even the easiest questions.  I called five places.  I talked to five people.  Many wouldn't even allow me to describe what I was looking for.  I could have been a potential customer, I didn't even let them know I was only looking to have questions answered.  Very rude and unwilling to talk, even when I suggested I come see them in person.  In my last attempt to get answers I called Fed Ex.  I had been to their store in Appleton and they were the only ones that seemed willing to help, so I thought.  I called the first time and was transferred to another department in which my questions could be answered.  I was on hold for over 15 minutes.  I hung up and called back.  Again, I was transferred and put on hold, this time for over 23 minutes.  I was starting to feel like they were toying with me.  I hung up and I called back.  This time I talked to a girl named Ashley.  I told her how long I had been on hold and asked her if that department was even open.  She informed me it was not.  I was a little upset.  I did not yell at her, but I gave her the names of the two other ladies I had talked to and asked her why they would transfer me to a department that was even open.  She had no answer.  I found most of my answers in the faq section their website but I did have to look some stuff up.  I got the assignment done and by the way Fed Ex's hold music is really loud and is pretty awful.  It is like listening to cats fight.  Okay, I have vented long enough.  If anyone actually reads this I will be amazed.  It has been a productive week and their were some frustrations along the way, but I did learn a lot. Now I'm starting to sound like Doogie Howser.  I have to go, I have a lot of homework. Peace Out!

the Second blog

Hello Readers,
So, I just got done creating my Wiki.  I sent invites to Stacy, Karen (who has a bit of a crazy gmail address), Jacki, Katelyn and Sharon.  You all better accept, or else.  I found out today that these classes that Sharon are teaching are pretty important, even if I want to cry every time I have to struggle my way through creating another digital communication vein.  But, I do get through it and it pays off.  This morning I woke up at 5:30 am in order to make it to Wausau, Northcentral Technical College to take the state office exam.  There was so much, just about everything (except for the math section) that I have learned from my computer classes and Sharon's administrative classes.  It was quite unreal.  Capitalizing addresses at the beginning of a formal letter.  How to use the proper form of "there" or "their".  I still may have gotten that wrong.  Filing in the proper way.  Things that we have learned in the last week.  The test is free and with what we have learned in these classes I recommend anyone who is attending MSTC for  the Administrative Professional Program take it.  If you want a state or government job it is a requirement.

Well, it is time to blog.  I have never blogged before in my life, so this should be interesting.  It was much easier for me to understand what was involved in starting a blog by figuring it out at home.  Everything went smoothly in the beginning.  I had never screen saved before, so that was pretty cool and useful to know.  It was easy to create my blog and to make my bloggers reference manual. The only real problem I had and still have is adding the 2 gmail addresses I received from my classmates.  The blogger website will not accept either one after trying several times.  I'm not sure what the problem is.  I also am not sure how to edit my blog readers to only the invited readers.  I have been able to connect to the class blog site, but unable to limit or invite my readers. I will keep working on this issue.  I hope the right people are able to read this.  Peace out!
